Dr. Nirmal Verma, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, Research Title; Lab Manager

Nirmal grew up in Lucknow City, India, and completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology and Chemistry from Lucknow University. He got his Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Fermentation Biotechnology from the Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India. Later he earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Life Sciences from the School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He joined Dr. Florin Despa's group as a post-doctoral scholar in 2013 and became a Scientist I in 2018. Since 2020 he has been working as an Assistant professor, research title at the Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences, University of Kentucky. In addition to his professional activities, Nirmal loves spending time with his wife and his son, playing games, and watching movies whenever possible
